  • Impact Today! Transgender Rights In The Trump Era

    When: February 26, 2019 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM

Impact Today! is a lunchtime series hosted by the Impact Center for Public Interest Law. The series highlights how current events impact civil rights and civil liberties.

In October 2018, The New York Times reported on a leaked Department of Health and Human Services memo that limited the legal definition of “sex” to one that would risk the erasure of transgender people under federal civil rights law. Transcend Legal’s Executive Director, Noah E. Lewis, and Director of Name & Gender Recognition, Charlie Arrowood, will join us to speak about the fight for transgender rights under the Trump administration.

Pizza lunch will be served. This event is open to all NYLS students, faculty, and staff. Co-sponsored by OutLaws.
